What is a Character Party?

We come to you dressed to the nine’s in realistic character attire and bring stories, games, music, crafts and other activities. In short, we bring the fun to you, with a party that is fantastic fun for both kids and parents alike!

Are you theme park characters?

No, we offer themed character entertainment based off of classic beloved fairy tales and stories. We are not associated with any larger companies or corporations.

I didn't see a package that fits my event, can I customize a visit?

We want to help you find the perfect “glass slipper fit” for your party. Please email godmother@enchantingbirthdays.com to tell us more about what you’re looking for. We are always happy to provide a customized quote based on your party specifics.

How does the flow of your visit go?

Our entertainers will arrive up to 10 minutes prior to your desired start time with all the materials for event and will be fully costumed upon arrival. We begin with circle time to break the ice and loosen up any shy guests. From there we will read stories and play games. Finally, our packages wrap up with time to sign autographs and say farewells.

How do you fit so much in such a short time?

Every party is different, just as all children react differently to live entertainers. While we work on a timeline, our main goal is to create an enjoyable, energetic experience for the children. If necessary we might improvise or modify an activity to promote maximum fun and enjoyment. In other words, we go with the flow!

So are the characters watching the children?

Adult guests are expected to supervise their children. While your performers strive to offer a picture perfect package, they are not there to babysit nor discipline children. If a child is acting out and being disruptive during a party, your performers may politely ask an adult to remove them until they are ready to re-join.

Where do you have the party?

We come to you! We do not have an event space of our own, so our characters will travel to wherever your event is. We suggest you have space for everyone to create a circle and play games. And we will come to any venue; parks, restaurants, homes, etc. Please just be sure your venue knows a character is coming!

How far does your company travel?

We service 25 miles from Buffalo, NY. Our characters will travel outside of the service area listed. However, these parties are subject to a travel fee. Fees are by performer and range from $25-$50/performer. All parties over 25 miles away are priced on a case-by-case basis.

When should I have the characters come?

What works well is to have the characters enter at least 15-30 minutes after your party starts, this way any latecomers don't miss out on the fun. When it comes time for our performers to leave, it’s nice to be able to lead the kids to either food or cake. It lends a nice distraction for an easy exit after the characters say goodbye.

What happens if my performer is late?

You can expect your performers to arrive up to 15 minutes early. However, as locals know, traversing the Buffalo area can sometimes mean traffic or weather challenges. In the rare case that your performers are late, they, or our Fairy Godmother will be in touch with an updated arrival time. Your performers will also stay the full time purchased from their updated entrance time. Unless performers are over 15 minutes late, we do not issue refunds.

When is payment due?

To complete your booking, availability must be confirmed with our Fairy Godmother. Your invoice must be paid a week prior to your event date. Payment reserves your date, time, character, and package request. All party details are also due a week prior to your party date. A friendly reminder will be sent prior to your party date. Failure to pay an invoice may result in a cancellation of your character visit.

How do I pay?

We accept payment through PayPal, Venmo, and by check. Providing credit card numbers over the phone or via email is not secure, we will not process payments that way. However, more than happy to assist you with using any of our offered payment methods.

Should I tip my performers?

All of our lovely professional performers are paid a flat rate by the company without gratuity. If you feel you would like to tip your performers for a job well done, please feel free to do so in cash directly to them or on your invoice beforehand. Most clients choose to tip their performers 15-20%. Our performers put a lot of work into becoming the characters, so gratuities are always very much appreciated!

What is the refund/cancellation policy?

All parties performed are nonrefundable. If cancelled up to 3 days before your date, we will issue a refund. Cancellation of your party less than 72 hours before your date will be refunded, minus a 20% deposit. Clients may reschedule their party at no extra charge if we have availability. Clients will be fully refunded in the extremely rare event that we have to cancel an event on an emergency basis.
